Inspirare is an intensive, dynamic, and engaging summer workshop for choral conductors and conducting students. The environment during the week promises to be lively, fun, and collaborative, with a hands-on, experiential, and positive approach to teaching and learning.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The Insprirare Choral Conducting Summer Workshop is geared toward:
Experienced choral conductors who desire to improve their skills
Graduate students in choral conducting
Conductors of church or community choruses
Advanced undergraduate students interested in pursuing a graduate degree in choral conducting, or a career in music education
Topics of study include:
Conducting masterclasses with the festival chorus
Score study techniques for improving the musicality and expressiveness of your ensembles
Choral rehearsal techniques
Vocal development for the choral ensemble
You may register as a Conducting Participant or an Auditor:
Conducting Participants: In addition to participating in all group sessions, Conductors will conduct the workshop choir in masterclasses.
Auditors: Auditors participate in all groups sessions, and sing in the workshop chorus, but do not conduct in the masterclasses with the Workshop Choir
